Suzuki Hayabusa

The Suzuki Hayabusa
GSX1300R
Premiered in 1999 and was immediately
accepted as the Word's fastest production motorcycle.
Clocking in times at the 190 mph mark, seeing those numbers 10 years ago made my head swim.
The Hayabusa gets it's name from the Peregrine Falcon, why ? At the time Suzuki viewed it's main competition as Honda's Black Bird CBR 1100 XX , so naturally they selected the Hayabusa name because Peregrine Falcons (Hayabusa) make prey of Black Birds.
Who said that the Japanese have no se
nse of humor ?
At current the newest generation of Busa's place 160+ HP at the rear wheel and are capable of reeling off Quarter mile times in the 9 second range.
In fact the Busa's engine has been so successful that it has been used in many different record setting Cars. Most famously was the GSXR/4 roadster made by Suzuki

  1. Hayabusa utterly combines bike and rider. Its fastidiously carved bodywork tames the wind to maximise the ability of its engine to generate more power and torque.
